APPLY TO: Guidance Office
CRITERIA: 2017 graduating High School Senior; minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA. Standard School Application and a 1,000-2,500 word essay complying with the following:

Forrest Gump the 3rd (“F3”) is a 25 year old millionaire, but reads at a 2nd-grade level and has a similar IQ to his grandfather.

F3 went to Kip’s gun shop to buy a gun. Kip properly ran a background check and found nothing that would prevent Kip from selling F3 a gun.

But, Kip knew F3’s IQ and understood Florida’s Gun Law #1.

Gun Law #1 provides: “It is a crime to sell a gun to any person of unsound mind.”
Kip refused to sell a gun to F3 because of that law. F3 sued Kip and the State for violating his 2nd Amendment right to own a gun.

Did Kip or Gun Law #1 violate F3’s 2nd Amendment rights? Why or why not?
